To inspire creativity and unleash its innovation capability, the organisation’s leadership must activate a set of ‘critical behaviours’ that generate a new set of good habits to form the new cultural norm. Such leadership critical behaviours can be defined in terms of the following principles:
- expression of the appetite for risk
- expression of the organisational goals through ‘values and beliefs’ to support idea management activities through shared-assumptions and group norms
- expression of what is encouraged, discouraged, accepted, or rejected within an organisation (i.e. the culture norm).
